  15. I usually would not do this, but I feel I must warn anyone thinking of doing

  18. A good while back Fred Posted an A3640 card sans cpu for sale.. I wanted an 
  19. extra one, so we agreed on a price ($200) the board was DOA.. UPS denied any
  20. shipping damage, and I was out the $200.. Fred said he didn't have any money
  21. and couldn't "afford" to refund my $200.. he claimed the board was working
  22. when it was shipped.. I agreed to let Fred give me a 50% Refund $100 so that
  23. he and I would each share in the loss (that was supposedly UPS's Fault)..

  25. Fred actually did get the broken board back from UPS, and re-send it to me
  26. so I could see if I could possibly get it fixed.. He sent one Partial Payment
  27. check of $25 for the, 50% or $100 refund we had agreed on..

  29. When I got the tech guy to check out the card, he found a blown component on
  30. the board.. The tech said ir was "possible" that this could have gone bad in
  31. transit, but said that it was very un-likely..

  33. Fred has posted several minor Items for sale since, and on each occasion I
  34. have asked if he was going to send the other $75 he still owed me.. On each
  35. occasion he has said he would send it, and has not..

  37. I have no way of "knowing", but find it interesting that the system he is
  38. now selling has a "Brand New Commodore 040 Processor".. Looks suspiciously 
  39. like the one he was using broke, then he sold it to me knowing it did not 
  40. work, and bought a new one..

  42. I would strongly advice against doing any business with him.. Especially if
  43. you can not afford the loss, or the time to pursue some remedy.. A couple 
  44. hundred dollar loss for me or my biz, is no big deal.. but for a lot of folks
  45. out there $2400 is a bit of money..

  47. In Any event He is definitely NOT a Man of his word, and you should deal with
  48. him accordingly..
